The value of Offering- [Series on validating God's word] with Rev. Dr OBI PETERS

Offering has now become a ritual in the church amongst God’s people.

      sunday service: 2nd  service 8am

      Oct 30 2016

Instruction is the mother of celebration.

When you are a man of effort you are in the right place to work with God. God works with a man of effort. God will not help an able man, but a man with effort. Go beyond you ability to the effort stage. The lepers had no ability in them to make an Arabian army run away; God amplified their steps.

The man that God will work with is the man that says, Lord I’m not able but with you I will be able. “

Your effort is something you cannot handle by yourself, but as you step out, God steps in.

Offering is not something you do by your ability. It’s something you do by effort.

To give to God is not something every man enjoys because God will always ask for what you won’t like to give. If God ask for valuable thing, He knows what He is doing.

God will always demand from you that thing that has value.

Why will God give a man one Isaac and come back after many years and still demand that same Isaac from him?

Anytime you are surrounded with uncertainties, you settle all uncertainties with your offering.

Your offering is your voice. Any time that God wants to hear a secret prayer point in your mind, raise Him an offering. The voice of your offering gives voice to the prayer that you haven’t prayed.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." [Matthew 7:7]

When Solomon offered God 1000 bullocks, God knew there was something Solomon was trying to say that he doesn’t know how to express it in words.

There is something that you will do that will knock at the door of God; that is your offering.

Balaam wanted to curse Israel; he raised an altar and gave an offering that made God appear. The offering moved God but God did not change His mind.

When men begin to understand that they don’t rush offering that is the day that they’ll know that they are not born again.

Most people in church give God a blind offering, an offering that will go nowhere. There is something about your offering that is between you and God. Offering is not something you rush.

Don’t appear before God without preparing an offering.

"15 The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the Lord, to make atonement for yourselves." [Exodus 30:15]

Your offering is not something you do on a Saturday night, it is something you do when you come back from your work; and you say, thank you Lord for your provision.

The value you place on your offering is the same value you place on yourself.

The first question to ask before offering God your offering-

Is my life style worthy of the God that I serve? Have you asked yourself, “What will men see in me about God?”

"22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David[a] the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’[b] [Acts 13:22]

Your heart condition and your personality is the first thing you need to know before giving God an offering. You must give yourself first as an offering to God before any other thing.

You must come to a place where you say, “Father, myself have I given to you alone first as an offering before any other. “

The reason for offering is that there might be food.

When you have the mind of God, it makes Him draw you close into the center of His heart. Put in the effort to give to God even when it’s not convenient for you.

"5And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God." [II Corin 8:5]

Their personality was a proof as a living sacrifice.

Offering has now become a ritual in the church amongst God’s people.

  1. If yourself has not been given to God as an offering, your millions and thousands is a waste.

The only thing that will engage itself in a fight with God is money. Your money can’t help God. The reason why you must give God an offering is to know if money has taken the place of God. Something that you can easily give away without feeling the pain is not an offering.

When you understand the value and quality that your offering carries, it helps your account!

The offering of David does not have more value than the offering of the widow’s mite. This is the measure- The rich must give with extravagance and the poor with extravagance.

"And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God,[a] but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” [Luke 21:1-4]

The only place that will compete for God’s place in your life is not satan but money!

You cannot give God your all and be empty except you didn’t give. When your heart is filled with your all, God will refill you.

Your offering should make your life appreciative. God’s heavy weight offering doesn’t come in an easy task. By the time you are able to change your mindset, you are ready for anything.

You offering is your sweat and your blood. Your must give to God what you sweat for.

God does not want to know the amount but the heart that gives.

How to measure the offering they gave-

  1. What they gave was their treasure.
  2. They gave to God with a heart of love.
  3. They presented their offering as a consecration. (II chron.25:5)
  4. You give to God with a rejoiceful heart. (II cor. 9:7)
  5. Your offering must come to God as an honour. (Gen 4:4-5)

29 "Why do you kick at My sacrifice and My offering which I have commanded in My dwelling place, and honor your sons more than Me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel My people?’ 30 Therefore the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says: ‘Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed." [I Samuel 2:29-30]

4 things your offering does-

  1. Your offering secures your relevance.
  2. It gives you a successor.
  3. Quality offering announces the detail of your destiny.
  4. It gives you in constant position.

The families of Eli lost Priesthood because they desecrated offering.

A consecrated offering is a different offering; it is an offering that comes to God as a worship, not as a ritual.

Prayer of Commitment: Father, if there is any way I have reduced the value of offering that I give to You, Father have mercy. I repent of it today.

Prayer: Father, let the voice of my offering begin to smell a sweet smelling savour before God.

Anyway my finance has been tied, today loosen my finances.

I'm really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog.

Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility issues?
A couple of my blog readers have complained about my site not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox.
Do you have any solutions to help fix this issue?

I leave a response whenever I like a post
on a website or I have something to valuable to contribute to the discussion. Usually it
is caused by the fire communicated in the article I browsed.
And after this post The value of Offering- [Series on validating God's word] with Rev.
Dr OBI PETERS. I was excited enough to drop a commenta response :
-P I actually do have 2 questions for you if it's okay.
Could it be just me or does it give the impression like a few of these comments look
as if they are coming from brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you
are writing on additional sites, I would like to follow anything new you have to post.
Could you list the complete urls of your public pages like your twitter
feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
